National Education Program
At the Harriet Joyce Foundation, we believe that education is one of the most powerful tools to transform healthcare. With this vision, we created Educa Más , our National Education Program designed to strengthen Ecuador’s public health system through continuous medical training.
In collaboration with the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) and the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), Educa Más organizes one to two workshops each month via Zoom, providing access to world-class expertise for doctors, postgraduate students, and medical professionals from across the country.
Our sessions are led by renowned international experts from institutions such as Harvard University, Cornell University, University of Pittsburgh, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Universidad de Chile, INTA, Boston Children’s Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, among others.
Through these workshops, we cover specialized topics across multiple areas of medicine, ensuring that Ecuadorian doctors in the public sector-as well as students and postgraduates from local universities like USFQ, UDLA, UCSG, UEES, and PUCE-have the opportunity to access cutting-edge knowledge, strengthen their skills, and improve patient care.
Our goal is clear: to provide continuous, high-quality education that empowers healthcare professionals, builds capacity within the national health system, and ultimately improves the quality of life of patients and families in Ecuador.
